Beginning Machine Piecing
Dates: Saturday, January 23, February 6 and February 20
Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Cost: $65 for three sessions

Description: Start at the beginning. Learn the basics of patchwork - putting the pieces together by machine to make six traditional blocks. Basic construction techniques and tricks to achieve a polished quilt top.
Supplies:
- Book "Start Quilting with Alex Anderson" (required)
- Fabric requirements as listed in the book to complete the sampler OR a variety of scraps of about 3 yards total.
- Sewing machine, thread, notions, small cutting mat, quilt ruler and rotary cutter.
Free Motion Quilting
Dates: Saturday, February 20
Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Description: Learn the tricks to machine quilting your project. No experience needed. It's a fun class with lots of laughter.
Supplies:
- Sewing machine that lowers or covers the feed dogs
- Darning foot for your machine
- Regular thread in contrasting color to your fabric
- 4 fat quarters (2 in tone-on-tone pattern)
- 2 pieces of batting (any type) 18" x 22"
- Basic Notions
- Electric extension cord
- Quilting gloves if you have them or borrow a pair
Mystery Sampler
Dates: January 9, February 13,March 6, April 10, May 8 and June 12
Time: 9:30am - 10:30am (2nd Saturday of each month)
Cost: $20 one time fee

Description: In 6 sessions you’ll receive instructions to make units for a lap/twin-size quilt top. Join the fun and by June, the mystery will be solved. Come meet other quilters for a great time each month. Learn tricks to make your project a success and increase your sewing and piecing skills. Fabric requirements will be discussed at first session. No machines.
Supplies: Announced at first session.
Class Policies...
You must register and pay for a class prior to attending. Please try and register at least 2 weeks prior to class. Phone-in registrations will be accepted. Instructors sometime need to prepare samples and kits. We prefer you buy your fabric from our quilt shop!
If you are one of the first to sign up for a class, do not purchase supplies until we are sure that there will be sufficient enrollment. Supply lists for classes will be provided upon registration.
Classes must have 3 or more students enrolled or the instructor has the option of completing, postponing or cancelling class. The instructor will contact all attendees. If we cancel class, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel, you will receive a full refund if you canceled at least ONE WEEK prior to the first day of class.
If Madison, Culpeper or Orange Schools are closed for bad weather, please contact the shop prior to attending class. Classes may be cancelled.
